***Qween of Swords presents- “Queer As Folk Horror” Hallowe’en***
Join us on Somersby Isle, with the peasants, thatchers, blacksmiths wielding their three hammers, and come taste the dark fruits of this isolated community and its traditional rituals.
We are pleased to confirm that the limited ferry service to Somersby Isle has been re-commissioned for the Autumn season of 1974 after recent unfortunate incidents that occured during the solstice. The head of the parish council Lord T Brewin welcomes members of the public to attend their ‘exciting’ festival celebrating the coming of the ‘Qween of Swords’ [sic]. This ancient rite apparently retains many traditional neolithic elements, and the ‘Final Rite’ (details forthcoming, sounds dreadfully exciting though!) will be accompanied by a local fete and festivities just to the left of the large flat stone slab in the middle of the stone circle, where we’re told this exciting final event will take place.
IMPORTANT: Lord T Brewin has requested that attendees arrive at the island in their finest modern clothes for this Autumn season in sunny ’74. He also encourages outfits in tune with their local pagan tradition and the local calendar dates (All Hallows Eve, St Trubble’s Eve).
Festivities are set to include:
~ MUSIC and DANCING ~
With local discjockeys, including
*Bouncin’ Robert Lee and Dancin’ Donna Lee*
The finest cuts from the 70s and beyond.
*Family Love Hz*
A local sect including members of the Ganglions Dancing Group, local troubadour James Ewan Tait, Ben Chapman (owner of a local shirt boutique) and our very own ferry terminal receptionist Tina Tugwell (who’s been missing since the solstice – good to have you back!)! Expect discotheque sounds from across the globe.
*The Hound of K*
(FKA ‘K Dogg’) a rather mysteriously named disc jockey who we have been told is a regular attender of the yearly ‘Qween of Swords’ event.
