Here it is peasants and fools, the budget you’ve all been waiting for. After much negotiating and head bobbing in the boardroom think tank, we’re finally able to release our 2016 STAKEHOLDER AUDIT for your scrutinization.
Following on the heels of last year’s debut compilation, which catapulted releases by A Middle Sex, Saif Mode, The Skipping Forecast and Nope into the global market. Sheffield collective The Audacious Art Experiment have once again put together a robust budget of 20+ tracks, highlighting the breadth and depth of their self attained DIY creative economics.
It’s been a bumper year for The Audacious Art Experiment, with Za! jostling amongst others on the cover of The Wire, the release of a brand new collaboration between Howie Reeve and influential bass-man Mike Watt (The Minutemen, fIREHOSE), and A Middle Sex being nominated for the Dead Albatross 2015 Music Prize.
Featuring a selection of tunes hand picked from recent releases (Howie Reeve & Mike Watt – Za! – Beards) as well as upcoming pressings, (DIY-FI Cassette Series Feat. Game_Program – Microsoft – Prizum – Jed Skinner) TAAE somehow still find space for exclusive remix tracks by Cantaloupe, a healthy dose of jams by the free improvising SW1N-HUNTER and Spandril and if that wasn’t enough, there’s also a slice of Punk’s Picnic cake by Nachthexen, Dead Badgers and Rob & Natas.
Perhaps the best thing about all this though is that the whole genre spanning comp is available as a “PAY WHAT YOU LIKE” download, with the option of contribute further by claiming a limited edition Lifetime Shareholder Double C60 cassette version. Available below via our Bandcamp.
